Ryuji joined Neuromagic in 2005 and has been instrumental in building the company’s client services from the ground up. Bettina leads Neuromagic’s sustainability vision as CSO and heads our European operations as CEO of Neuromagic Amsterdam, a role she was appointed to in 2024. Since joining Neuromagic in 2021, she has built and scaled the Sustainability Solutions Group, helping companies navigate complex change. Bettina combines strategic clarity with a strong belief in transparency, curiosity, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.

Natsuki Nagai
Natsuki is a service designer and DEI advocate with a background in global studies and social equity. Since joining Neuromagic in 2018, she has led user research, experience design, and brand development for a wide range of projects. As team lead, she has helped shape both talent development and new business initiatives. Drawing from her academic research on minority communities in the U.S., Natsuki has championed diversity, equity, and inclusion within the company, taking on an executive role in DEI from 2022. She was appointed to the board in May 2024.

Christopher Rowan
Christopher brings nearly two decades of global business leadership and investment experience to Neuromagic. After early executive roles at Sony Music Entertainment and a key leadership position at Internet Research Institute - where he oversaw a successful $110M IPO - he went on to found AvTech Ventures. There, he has led investments in over 40 entertainment and tech companies, frequently stepping in as CEO, COO, or board chair to guide high-growth startups. Christopher currently serves on several boards and continues to drive strategic value creation across industries.

Zenichiro Yasuda
Zenichiro is a co-founder of Neuromagic and currently serves as Audit Supervisor. With a background in systems engineering at IBM Japan and consulting experience across insurance and energy sectors, he brings a strong technical and analytical lens to governance. Since leaving Neuromagic in 2004, he has continued to advise businesses on digital content strategy and IT utilisation. His blend of hands-on technology expertise and long-term perspective supports Neuromagic’s commitment to transparency and responsible growth.

Atsushi is a certified public accountant and tax advisor with extensive experience in financial auditing, IPO preparation, and capital markets. After graduating from Keio University, he held key roles at NTT Facilities, KPMG AZSA, and Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, where he specialised in audit and IPO review. Now independent, Atsushi supports startups with fundraising and listing preparation, and serves as an external officer and investment committee member for several companies.

Neuromagic Co., Ltd. was founded with just two employees, launching its first services in multimedia and website planning and production.
1996
Feb.
Reorganized as a joint-stock company (Kabushiki Kaisha).
1997
Relocated the office from Akasaka, Minato-ku to Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo .
2000
Formed a partnership with AXIS Inc. and launched Neuromagic AXIS Design to offer SIPS (Strategic Internet Professional Services), providing consulting focused on internet strategy from a business perspective. Around the same time, the growing team surpassed 20 members, prompting a move to a larger office within the same Tsukiji 7-chome area.
2004
Established Neuromagic Communications Inc. in Minato-ku, Tokyo, launching a new business focused on communication strategy in the digital space.
2009
Feb.
Merged with Neuromagic Communications Co., Ltd. to integrate planning, creative expression, and engineering within a single organisation, strengthening synergy and enhancing overall quality.
2011
Apr.
Moved to our current office. The relocation took place shortly after the Great East Japan Earthquake, during a time of uncertainty and disruption.

Established our first satellite office in Fukuoka.
2017

Partnered with San Francisco–based hivelab to launch our Service Design business. By this time, our team had grown to 87 members.

Established Neuromagic Amsterdam b.v. in the Netherlands, expanding our capabilities into service design and business development alongside creative planning and production.

Established the Service Design Group and Solution Design Group, marking a shift toward offering solutions beyond the internet domain.

Launched KATTE, a support project for the food and beverage industry. Focused on the Tsukiji area, home to our Tokyo office, we helped local businesses by supporting the launch of an online sales platform.

Launched NM Dojo, an internal training programme designed to foster knowledge sharing. Serving as an in-house university, it equips team members with foundational skills in marketing, UX, and more.

Oct.
Translated and edited the SiD (Symbiosis in Development) method, developed by Dutch sustainability frontrunner Except, into Japanese and released it as a digital guidebook.

Mar.
Established a dedicated Sustainability Transformation (SX) Group to deepen and systematise our sustainability efforts. With an internationally diverse team, the group leads projects from research to solution development. The group was later renamed the Sustainability Solutions Group.
